Agger Close to Milan Deal?

14/01/2009 · 1 Comment

Eurgh!  Even writing that makes me want to vomit in my new, comfortable Ikea slippers – which I would be sacrifice to get Daniel to stay.  He’s a class centre-back, really reminds me of Jocky in the way he can step out and find a pass.

The Times:

“AC Milan were last night set to make a new £7.5 million bid for Daniel Agger, the Liverpool defender. The Denmark defender is believed to have an escape clause in his contract that would allow him to leave Anfield against the club’s wishes in the summer. Liverpool have denied that this clause exists, but Per Steffensen, Agger’s agent, had lunch in Milan with Ariedo Braida, the Serie A club’s sporting director, yesterday and Milan are confident of completing the deal this week.”

If it was a shitty tabloid, I wouldn’t give a toss, the fact that it’s a reasonably credible source (apart from it’s owned by the same scumbags who run SkySports) is what worries me.  Also that Gabrielle Marcotti has written it, he also, knows Serie A pretty well.

Well, after reading it, it was actually just a sensationalist headline, when in fact, it says they’re submitted a bid.  £7.5M?  I’d pay that amount for these slippers.

Is anyone else getting worried about AC Milan getting their hands on Agger?

Christmas Liverpool Transfer Gossip Round-Up

14/01/2009 · Leave a Comment

Whether you think he talks out of his chorizo-hole or not, it’s interesting to hear that Guillem Balague has said this on his “I’m BFF with everyone from Spain so please think I’m a credible source blog”;

“Rafa recently told me that he has been incorrectly been linked with 72 players already!”

If I had the time Rick Parry takes to negotiate contracts I would go through all 72 but I don’t.  I’ll just go through the transfers in and out of the club over January and I’ll give them a relevant Sean Dundee “I’m faster than Michael Owen” bullshit rating.

Glen Johnson

Yes, he’s very capable and yes he’s having a good season.  I can understand why we’ll be linked with a fullback, but there was some shit reporting when I think a shitty-rag-esque paper said Arbeloa was inconsistent and we wanted Johnson to replace him.  Arbeloa has been doing a great job this season, he’s impressed me defensively more than anything, pretty capable getting forward to but with Degen out so much, a new right-back would be ideal but for the money quoted by the Portsmouth Board is out of limit.  Anyway, the chorizo-seller said he never had a medical with us. Just wanted to say that before people comment (I doubt that will happen, just wishful thinking) that my mate’s mate’s brother’s babysitter saw  him at Melwood.  It was probably just a kebab-seller.

That’s 3/5 Sean Dundee’s, that means, not going to happen at all, we don’t have money to buy an expensive fullback.

Emile Heskey

Right, there’s some rumours going around about him signing a pre-contract for next season which would be pointless frankly.  I’d only have him as another option if things our Plan A isn’t working to win No. 19.  This is bullshit because as Fat Head Bruce said:

“With Emile, you can’t sign pre-contract agreements with a club in your own country, it wouldn’t be legally binding.
“You can do so with a club in another country.
“It’s news to me if he has done so with Liverpool. I wouldn’t have thought he would have put himself in that position.”

I would have him if we could have him in January, but there’ll be better options in the summer.  Selfishly, I think Crouch should have stayed but I understand his position of wanting to play every-game, he gave us another quality option up-front.  However, I would pay him a couple weeks wages to slot a few home tonight though.

1/5 – I would like to say Dundee has more chance of returning but I don’t think so.  Dundee adds “But you’re blik!”

You’ve probably met this man on holiday selling sunglasses or in a nightclub trying to sell you some crushed up glass, truth is, he’s a distinctly average left back.  The only reason this one exists is because Insua (who was impressive in his four or five starts) is away and Aurelio is coming back from injury and Andrea is not being played.  I do prefer Aurelio at fullback, he was impressive at the start of the season, Man. City game inparticular.  The media are just desperately trying to link us to players because we’re not that active this January as we don’t need a player for a certain position for the first time in ages.

1/5 Sean lives up to his party-boy lifestyle by coming up with a south-african insult “He’ll only come if Jermaine wants some top-drawer cocaine, bro”

I see no new recruits coming in over January, I feel the squad, for the first time in a long while has enough depth to compete until May.

Digger Backs Rafa for Title

14/01/2009 · Leave a Comment

Wahey, an ex-player who’s actually got something positive to say about Rafa, next someone will tell me that Rafa did the right thing and putting the Gin-soaked whiskey bucket down?  Well, I doubt the last one a lot.

He comments :

“Liverpool have shown they have the capability to challenge for the title and have given themselves a great chance of ending their long wait to be champions.”

“Rafa’s team are now showing great consistency and are playing with lots of confidence.

“The most important thing for me is that the squad has shown they can win games without their star players.

“After all, they crushed Newcastle without either Fernando Torres or Robbie Keane. This has given the whole group a real belief that they can finally challenge the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.”

We do have a lot greater depth in squad now, with the likes of Benayoun, Lucas and Kuyt all performing in different roles.  I didn’t understand the criticism of the team sheet against Stoke as it was literally the same one that crushed Newcastle.   He also comments on Liverpool’s expected lack of transfer activity which I assume is roughly correct, can’t see much going on apart from trying to move on Pennant who’s laziness is probably keeping from getting up and thinking about moving on.

There’s never a bad time to also post a Barnes video either so here we go:

Apologies about the music, quite clearly a homosexual has got his hands on the footage.

Sean Dundee? Is that Crocodile Dundee’s Real Name?

14/01/2009 · 1 Comment

Of course it’s not!  This post is to remember the last time I ever got overly excited for a player, for some reason, I was obsessed with him.  Maybe it was his promise of being  ”as fast as Michael Owen.”  I’m not going to lie, I’m struggling to get any real information about him, even the offy takes the piss out of him.  Truth is, before he came an Anfield legend, he was actually pretty good in the Bundesliga for Karlsruhe in the mid 90’s, scoring a respectable amount of goals in his main seasons there.

Right, I’ll post a picture which may look like I’ve copied him out of a Die Hard film or I’ve taken a cheeky snap of a poor Russian lad and given him a dirty football shirt but trust me, this is him.

sean-dundee-looking-disgusting

At this point, I tried to find him scoring these sacred Karlsruhe goals, and I’m struggling to find them but I did find this which is frankly, a lot more entertaining than watching Sean twatting a few in.

He also had a stinkingly shit attitude (probably cos he’s pissed off Sean up-top got more hits than he did) with stories of him drinking heavily after training and before training.  But I don’t want to spend my time really giving him a hard time as frankly, he can pummel me looking at him in the top picture.

I at least found something Dundee related, at least he was fondly remembered by the Bundesliga fans and I still believe his day will come where he’ll do a God and return.

New Blog = New Thoughts? Doubt it.

13/01/2009 · 2 Comments

Well, is this how you start a blog?  I don’t actually know how to start a blog?  I think it would officially start when I write something of interest?  Hopefully my picture of an ultrasound is a fair representation of what this blog is, a blossoming bundle of joy which will hopefully give insights into my views into Liverpool FC.

This woman should probably see a Doctor because it looks like she is going to give birth to a fish.
